Company

Founded in 1972 by Dr. Hermann O. Th. Diehl with mainly a domestic client base, the patent and law firm DIEHL & PARTNER has enjoyed continuous growth. Anticipating the increasing importance of intellectual property in a world-wide market and especially the rising monetary value of trademarks and patents, the founders introduced the principle of the firm to provide only the highest quality at affordable prices.

According to our strong belief, the quality of an intellectual property is to be evaluated by its enforceability. Ensuring that the best result is achieved for the client, the firm has achieved decisions of the Federal German Patent Court that had important impact on the interpretation of German patent law.

Due to its increasing reputation the firm was, and still is, involved in important infringement cases in Germany and other countries throughout Europe. Thanks to its reputation, the firm steadily grew in the international market and in 1996 a subsidiary, Diehl & Partner AG in Switzerland, was established. Today, more than two thirds of the applications dealt with come from abroad, and to take this development into account, a whole department of our staff are native English speakers, thus ensuring the high quality of our work. Aware that our reliable patent attorneys personally take responsibility for their files, multiple clients that are frequently leaders in their technical field entrust their most important cases to our firm.
