The classification of goods and services is defined by the International treaty known as "Nice Classification" or "International Classification of Goods and Services". Every five years the Nice Classification is revised. As the last revision was in 2007, now, the 10th edition of the Nice Classification entered into force on January 1, 2012 and it will be applicable for all trademark applications filed on or after January 1, 2012.
